Administrative Staff

Director - Lisa Hanlon Schroeder

Lisa Hanlon Schroeder

Lisa Hanlon Schroeder has worked for 30 years in the public and private classroom environment.  She has participated in consultation and assessment practices, and in private school administration.  She holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters degree in Special Education.  She is certified by the states of Alabama and Missouri in the areas of Learning Disabilities, Emotional Conflict  and School Psychometry.  From 1977 to 1991, she was an administrator and consultant in both private and public schools in St. Louis, Missouri.  In 1992, along with Dr. John Sumners, Lisa formed the Southeast Center.  She and Dr. Sumners were successful in developing a dynamic program for the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with mild to moderate disabilities.  She soon went on to found Churchill Academy in 1996.

Lisa's very successful vision was to create a model school that would fill an educational void in the community.  She wanted to address the academic and social issues that challenge young people with disabilities.  She accomplished this goal with determination, an amazing work ethic, and with the ongoing support of her family.

Administrative Assistant - Hope Cassidy

Hope Cassidy

Hope Cassidy joined the Churchill staff in 1998.  She has established herself as a contributor in every aspect of the school.  Hope brings with her a wealth of medical experience from the field of neurological assessment.  Over the last 8 years, Hope has willingly assumed many and varied professional responsibilities at Churchill.  The scope of her committment includes, but is not limited to teacher, arbitrator, and parent volunteer.

Another vital position that Hope maintains is that of behavior facilitator.  She is the liason between the classroom teachers and the students to insure that the key tenants of the Churchill Academy mission statement are fulfilled.  The title of administrative assistant does not begin to describe Hope's significance at Churchill Academy.

Office Manager - Leesha Cassidy

Leesha Cassidy

Leesha Cassidy came to Churchill in 2001 as a student.  She is also the daughter of Mrs. Cassidy, our Administrative Assistant.  Leesha first began working at Churchill as an aide in classroom A where she discovered a true passion for our students. Her strengths include organization and computer skills, therefore, when the Office Manager position became available in the fall of 2008, Leesha was a natural choice.  Leesha was trained in photography at the BTW Magnet school and her talent in this area is utilized frequently.  We are grateful to have Leesha's energy and expertise in our front office.
